This natural granite 4 3/4" mortar and pestle set allows you to mash, muddle, grind, and crush with ease. The foam pads on the base of the bowl ensure that the mortar set won't damage your kitchen work surfaces as you grind.

The SOLID GRANITE construction of this set allows you to crush, grind, and mix spices, herbs, and seeds without introducing any unwanted flavors. The real granite pestle and mortar are neutral and natural in taste.

The CUSHIONED BASE of this set features three foam dots on the bottom of the mortar, which prevent scratches to your kitchen work surfaces and help hold the bowl in place as you grind your ingredients.

With a diameter of 4 3/4" (12 cm), the LARGE SIZE of this mortar provides ample space to crush your ingredients. To eliminate any stone dust, it is recommended to wash and season the set before its first use.

BEFORE FIRST USE, after washing with water and air drying, you should prepare and season your mortar and pestle using rice, garlic, cumin, salt, and pepper. Then, wash and air dry the set once more.

This mortar and pestle set is ALL NATURAL, made of natural granite, and comes with a neutral flavor profile. This allows you to muddle fruit, crush nuts, or grind spices and herbs into pastes and marinades without affecting the flavor.

The ANTI-SCRATCH feature of this set is provided by the 3 anti-scratch foam feet on the bottom of the mortar bowl, which not only prevent the bowl from scratching your countertop and surface but also help keep the bowl in place during use.

The LARGE size of this mortar, with a diameter of 4 3/4" (12cm), provides ample space to grind large ingredients such as nuts and leaves, making it possible to create both large and small amounts of paste.

To FIRST SEASON the set, after washing and drying, you should grind white rice, discard it, and repeat until it grinds white. Next, add and muddle 4 garlic cloves, followed by 1 tsp each of cumin, salt, and pepper. Grind and discard all, then wash the set in clean water and let it air dry.

It is important to NOTE that you should not use detergent on your mortar and pestle. Additionally, the natural variations in the granite make every set unique from the image shown.
